Hope's Puppies went home...
Yesterday was a busy day...new parents came and picked up their little darlin's. Mister G (formerly Happy Jack) seems to have made the trip to Oklahoma City quite comfortable on Olive's lap. Little Dallas will be adjusting to her new home and house mate Pumpkin.

Shots...Oh No!
Poor babies!! Hope's kids got their first set of shots this week but they were both big brave puppies and never even whimpered. (I think they are storing up for the second ones though)

Hannah's Status
Well today is day 60 (Hannah's normal delivery day/night) so we are all anxious at this point. We already know from her last vet visit that she has four puppies just waiting to greet the world.
Since Hannah is a late evening/night deliverer don't expect any more news today though.

First Week on Solid Foods...
These two little babies have just finished their first week of transition to solids foods and mom is working on the weaning process...once those teeth come thru she is ready to cut them off ...so solid foods are looking really good this week! They are just now at five weeks old, love to play and chew on ears, noses, and give lots of kisses.

Ask Linda from Q & A
Q. RE: Assistance in delivering my puppies ..."whelping": just curious, what are the chances of loosing one? what kinds of things could happen if you don't assist? from YouTube
A. Thanks for asking an excellent question. I assist in all my deliveries and have not lost a puppy or mama in my 30+ years. But even the most experienced can run into complications along the way.
My Reasons for assistance: The chances of loosing one depends on several factors like - diet fed especially during pregnancy, size of female to male ratio when breeding, whelping experience of mom, unforeseen circumstances like an umbilical cord wrapped around another puppy, if it is a still-born, if the puppy is in the right position in the birth canal, has the labor lasted longer than expected etc. Note: This is not all inclusive. I'm sure there are many more reasons if I think hard enough.
